At the beginning of each year, I like to watch forecasts predicting upcoming trends. The year 2020 seems to be opening a new decade, so I’m wondering what’s new it will bring?
Interior design brands are launching new collections, fashion magazines showing us what’s coming to our streets. I find it very interesting; even I don’t need to apply them immediately into my life. So far, one of my favorite trends, which I hope is going to become everyday life and not a trend, is the passion for natural textures and materials.
Slowing down – waking up the senses
“ Our surroundings shape our identity, mood, and state of mind.
More than ever, it is important to engage to senses, the touch and the feel of things.
(…) Natural materials and textures evoke feelings of cohesion and balance. “
Tine – tinekhome/#2020 new collection
Since generations, humans love the natural appeal of elements that make them feel calm and at peace. I believe that with natural ingredients, we can give our homes and garden the organic and trendy look that we desire.
I selected for this post a few images from a new catalog of an interior brand called Tinekhome. This amazing countryside home looks like a dreamy holiday destination, but we can also bring a bit of this atmosphere to our homes. Furniture and decorative pieces made from several natural materials, such as bamboo, seagrasses, and rattan, are so convenient to use.
Let’s try to play a bit with small and more significant interior elements.
I adore the collection of home goodies from a Japanese store called Analoguelife. A small vase, plate or cup made with care and attention, is like a treasure for the interior. Can we have less but things that have a unique value for us?
I’m also showing you a few pictures from the fantastic hotel created by Interior designer Annabell Kutucu. The interior is very monochromatic. The dark brown materials and textures are reach and moody. I always loved black colours, in interior and garments, but slowly I’m getting fascinated with brown tones. We also need to remember about the textures. They add dimension to a room; it appeals to our senses – both visual and tactile – which will make our home much more enjoyable.
I find it truly inspiring to discover Olja’s style and how her aesthetic extends beyond her work into their family home. Even with the arrival of her son Leo, the family hasn’t compromised on love for decorating, or style. It’s a beautiful reminder that style and family life can coexist!
I’m writing this post with a cup of hot chocolate on my desk and candles burning away. As much as I like the long summer days, the Autumn season has so much to offer too….
We stood speechless, seeing how Silvia creates her art right in front of us. The walls started to look like paintings, and the whole interior changed in a heartbeat.
We make Rafa-kids furniture from premium Finnish Birch plywood. Let’s have a look at how we finish it, so it is durable and stays beautiful for years. Swedish premium water-based lacquer is perfect for this purpose.
