It’s proven that being in nature gives us a sense of peace and tranquillity. Maybe that’s why Natural Interior Design Trend has been popular for such a long time. I’m happy to see it, as I like this aesthetic a lot. I believe it is timeless, and we can enjoy it for a long time. Nature and natural materials help us create:
Pure, Authentic, and Comfortable Home.
I believe that, especially in the children’s bedroom, this aesthetic has a positive influence on their mood, and I hope it helps them to sleep better too 😉
What is Natural Interior Style?
The shortest description of Natural Interior Design Style would be:
Inspired by Nature.
You add natural and nature-inspired elements to create this interior Style at your home. It could be a tiny element, such as a beautiful rattan lamp, or a more significant piece, a sofa with a stone-washed linen cover. There are many different materials and textures that can work together to create a natural interior. It doesn’t mean your entire home needs to be changed, but adding a few elements can make the interior feel more natural.
How to plan a room interior:
We often see a room we like and wonder how to create something similar. The trick is good planning and being consistent in following it! Most Interior Designers spend a lot of time planning and preparing before decorating the space. We can also do this in a simplified version. Let me help you step by step.
Color Palette
First, it is essential to choose a colour pallet. The Kid’s Bedroom in Natural Style will have colours based on those taken from the natural world. Imagine the primarily earthy colours seen in all raw materials – like Wood, Ratan, Bamboo, and Linen.
You can keep it monochrome, but contrasting it will make the Interior more attractive. In the children’s room, add a bit of colour, like mustard, or orange, for a warm, cosy feeling and a more playful vibe.
Make a moodboard.
Don’t worry if you have never done it before. Making a moodbord is fun! It is a selection of interior photos and products you will need in a room. In our case, we create a bedroom for kids, so a bed and bedding are necessary. It would help if you also had a few detailed pictures, with some texture of bedding, pillows or toys, adding a personal touch to the space.
You can make this moodboard on Pinterest or traditionally by cutting magazine images. You can also collect materials with your child while walking to the park, taking wooden sticks or leaves back home. That’s all-natural beautiful tones. This moodboard will help you a lot while shopping for paint or buying all the accessories;
this will be your guideline of what matches or not.
Key Elements;
The moodboard and selected colour pallet are your guidelines. Now we can go step by step, creating the bedroom. I made chapters to help you with it:
Chapters :
1. Walls and Floor
2. Furniture: Large and Small
Beds > Shelves > Bedside tables etc
3. Lighting
Large hanging Lamps > Small Next to the Bed > Free Standing
4. Accessories
Rug > Baskets > Pillows > Bedding > Cuddles
These are all the ingredients. It’s essential to start with bigger and then go to smaller items – like adding spices to our meal 😉 When cooking, we also make a shopping list, buy all the ingredients, and prepare something tasty! I will show you exactly how I designed this Natural Style Bedroom in our UPCOMING GUIDE – so say tuned!
The Guide will also include a SHOPPING LIST with plenty of links to save you time looking for products. I can’t wait!
I discovered Cham’s account on Instagram and fell in love with her minimal style. I hope you also see the beauty of Cham’s pictures and the unique warm atmosphere she captures around her family life. How does she keep it so simple and organized with three small kids?
Children love a cozy atmosphere for reading books. That’s the reason we have introduced reading as an evening ritual. For this ritual, I created a cozy corner for my six-year-old daughter under Rafa-kids F bunk bed.
It’s impossible to create one kids’ room, which will last for many years. It needs to be changed according to the child’s development and interest. But there is hope! And we can enjoy watching this process without breaking the bank while decorating their room!
