Thinking of adding colour to your child’s room, but not sure where to start?
Most kids’ furniture on the market is white, wood, or neutral. It looks beautiful, but it can feel a little safe, even predictable. Maybe you’ve looked at your child’s room and wished it had a bit more spark, personality, and joy.
The right shade of furniture can completely transform a room’s atmosphere. Calm tones create a peaceful retreat, while bold shades add joy and energy. Because Rafa-kids furniture grows with your child, we made sure these colours are playful enough for childhood yet elegant enough to last for years.
So, which colour fits your child best? Let’s explore.
CALM & RELAX 🌿
Agave Green is fresh, natural, and inspired by soft leaves. It is perfect for creating a calming space with a touch of nature.
Green is the colour that goes with everything. Just think of plants: their stems are always green, yet every flower shines against this backdrop. A green bed is ideal for lovers of natural interiors, especially those with wooden floors or other wooden furniture. It adds sophistication and depth to a space without ever being too much.
MODERN & MINIMAL ☁️
Light Grey is soft, light, and timeless — an easy match if you like a modern, clean look.
Okay, Grey is for all the minimalists out there. Sometimes, I think Grey is the favourite colour of architecture after black. ;-) It’s a modern, minimal colour for all who like a timeless, elegant bed. This is your neutral base to start playing with other colours. You will never get bored with it!
Colour in kids’ rooms isn’t just decoration — it’s how they express their personality, mood, and creativity.

SOFT & JOYFULL 🌸
Dusty Rose brings warmth and gentle sweetness — a cosy choice for a child who loves softness.
I’ll admit, I’m not usually a fan of pink. But this shade, Dusty Rose, is different — soft, delicate, and won’t overwhelm the room. It pairs beautifully with yellow, orange, or even deeper pink tones. Together, they create a joyful spot full of character, without being too girly.
The FUN Collection brings joy, individuality, and personality into kids’s spaces.
INTENCE & WARM 🍊
Terracotta is earthy and bold. Great if you want a playful room full of character.
If you like beige and soft neutrals, Terracotta can be a good choice to take the room to the next level—adding more contrast and boldness. It’s an excellent colour to match wood, rattan, and natural textures.
Terracotta also means hot climates, with spices, accents, bold colours, and energy. You can add all other bold colours—blues, greens, and other intense colours—to make the most joyful room ever! It’s full of spice and creative energy!
DREAMY & DRAMATIC ⭐🌙
Midnight Blue is deep and dramatic — perfect for sparking imagination and creating a dreamy atmosphere.
There’s something magical about dark blues. They’re ideal for creating a mysterious, cosy space — think of a ceiling full of stars and a soft light glowing in the corner, making bedtime calm and inviting.
If you love contrast in interiors but find black too intense, dark blue is a great alternative. It’s calming, dreamy, and beautifully dramatic.
How to choose the right colour
Think about your child’s personality — and the feeling you want their room to have:
🌿 Green or Blue for a calming, peaceful retreat.
☁️ Grey if you prefer timeless design that’s easy to adapt.
🌸 Dusty Rose to bring warmth and a joyful atmosphere.
🍊 Terracotta for energy, character, and contrast.
There’s no wrong choice. It’s about what feels right for your family and your home.
Do you wonder when it happened that your little baby started walking and then running around? Home becomes his/her playground, and discovering each corner is the best fun to do. Maybe it’s time to think of arranging a successful new toddler room. We have few tips to help!
Children love a cozy atmosphere for reading books. That’s the reason we have introduced reading as an evening ritual. For this ritual, I created a cozy corner for my six-year-old daughter under Rafa-kids F bunk bed.
