If you follow my Blog for a while or Rafa-kids Instagram, you probably noticed that I’m not showing any typical children’s rooms. I try to inspire you to think differently about children’s spaces and make you believe that kids’ rooms can be modern, playful, and a worthy part of your home’s interior.
When I was young, I would call myself a tomboy, and I don’t remember wearing any traditional princess dress ever. I had short hair and ran around in dungarees. Being now a mom of two sons also influences how I look at children’s space and how I would like to decorate it. Maybe that’s why I never accepted a traditional division connected with gender, and I particularly don’t appreciate assigning colors to boys or girls. The right interior style should be above this, right?
Very recently I started to discover and like the shades of pink! And precisely the shades of Coral – I called it a mix of the sun with peach. Do you like it? There are so many amazing tones and shadows of pink: sophisticated and elegant at the same time. I created this little corner at Rafa-kids studio to show you how to use it at home.
Felt is such an excellent material to add to children’s space. I am a fan off different types of accessories made from felt: pillows, carpers, and my very favorite – Baskets! I believe that you cannot have enough storage baskets out there! There are not only delicate to touch but also very practical. Kids can learn to organize all their smaller belonging and keep them at hand’s reach.
Rafa-kids has in collection two sizes of baskets: M and XL. You can use them depending on how much space you have in the room. The M basket fits easily under our B bench. Don’t limit yourself – you can use baskets in a nursery, toddler room, or even your parents’ bedroom. The good news is also that the felt accessories from Muskhane are made with respect for the environment by only using natural raw materials, all carefully handmade in Nepal.
