Today I would like to show you this beautiful room from Australia. Let’s get inspired and learn how we can create a bit of magic in our children’s rooms too! Have you ever seen a STAR themed kids’ room? I didn’t! I think it’s just brilliant. Imagination is something that children naturally have. Talking about stars, planets, moon, and other galactic is one of the favorite themes at our home.
Sarah, mom of twins, Caspian + Quill from Melbourne, Australia, said: “It’s only taken me 4 years to embrace blue for boys! “To be honest, I didn’t even notice the blue but the soft and magic atmosphere of the entire Caspian’s room she created. If you are interested, I have shown her other son’s Quills room over here.
Let’s see more of the room and talk about the interior decisions Sarah made to create this unique look.
Welcome to Master Caspi’s Stargazer room!
First, we choose the color base. I adore the calm pallet Sarah selected – the soft blue of the wallpaper, white walls, and curtains. Then she decided to go for ratan and wood furniture, toys and accessories. If we choose only to use the light colors and textures, it’s a risk it can look a bit boring and monotone. The stronger dark blue and mustard textile accents make this room so alive and more attractive.
I like that Sarah decides to bring more matured colors than usually chosen for younger children, which will ensure that the room can be used much longer. I can see this room as a beautiful soft base for a child to play with his/her imagination. And then the STARS! I think we can even play a little game and count how many start and where they are in Caspi’s Stargazer room!
I believe we can learn a lot from this Dreamy Star Caspian’s room. Sarah encourages us to be consequent with our decisions and sticking to the right color plan and material selection. Interior design is, most of the time, not based on spontaneous decisions. It required some planning, and if we have a vision in the first place, it will be much easier to accomplish what we want. Happy decorating!
Few words from Sarah :
“All the decor came together from this beautiful removable “Stargazer” wallpaper by @minnieandmeinteriors. And as soon as a chair is hung in a room, it instantly creates magic! I loved this beautiful @hunterandnomad rattan hanging chair from the moment I first saw it and imagined this exact photo in my head. Thank you @little_rose_and_co for making us the perfect custom wooden toy telescope after I searched high and low for an existing one?! Caspi can now gaze at the stars to his hearts content. ”
We are so happy that the limited edition of Rafa-kids XL shelf is part of this room. Available here.

Designing rooms for our four boys was the biggest challenge,” Bonnie admits. Curious how she pulled it off? Step inside this dreamy Australian home and see how smart design (and a touch of Rafa-kids) turned chaos into calm, stylish spaces full of personality.
I’m always excited when I see stylish houses which also show children’s rooms. They should be part of our houses and deserve our attention too. This beautiful home of Sarah Pickersgill-Brown, and her family is a fantastic example of that!
How many stores do you know where you can shop for home design items and also have furniture for kids’ rooms? Only a few, right? So, when Tereza Salte and Jitka Taylor reached out to us a few months ago, excited to share their upcoming concept, we knew it was a perfect match!
I discovered a mom of two Mika on Instagram. On her account liep.et.to.the.moon she shares ideas how to decorate kids’ rooms. Lately she was busy with creating her 3 years olds son’s room, so I ask her if she could share with us some insides about it.
