Teenager’s modern bedroom with Rafa-kids beds
Are you a parent of a teenager, as I am? If you are reading this, I assume we have something in common.
My older son is now 14, and since two years, he finally has his own room. He asked for it for a long time, arguing his need for privacy strongly. Agreed!
For teenagers, a bedroom is an escape from everything, allowing them to be themselves. Keeping this in mind at Rafa-kids, we created this beautiful teenager’s den to inspire you and help if possible. Growing up is not always an easy journey, so let’s create an interior that will make our kids
COMFORTABLE > RELAXED and GROUNDED.
We know that beds are the largest elements in the room. They can be often bulky and impersonal, making the furnishing of a room difficult from the start. Not all families have the luxury of giving each child their own space, so growing up, children often have to share a room. That’s not the end of the word! A few years back, we had the same issue and took the bull by the horns choosing to design Rafa-kids beds. We hope this design will help you to solve a few problems too.

Let’s talk more about the beds.
First: they are the largest elements in the room; second: teens spend a lot of time in them also during the day. THE BEDS ARE NOT ONLY FOR SLEEPING BUT ALSO AN ESSENTIAL ELEMENT OF THE SPACE.
We twisted the problem into a solution. Create two beds that not only look great but are also flexible. What does this mean? You get two separate beds, which you can set differently in one room. F bunk bed is the upper bed, and lower is the A teen bed. Did you ever think that two beds can help to create two separate areas in a small space? This will give each child a feeling of individuality and make the room much more playful—a win-win situation. A big plus is that the beds look super cool and stylish, which our teens appreciate and secretly show off to their friends!
A small summary for you :
F bunk bed for 6+
The iconic F bunk bed is so cool to sleep in; it saves space and has a light and elegant design.
The F bunk bed has two ladders so that you can position it in any corner of the room.
A teen bed for 8+
Full adult size bed, perfect for teens and young adults. Low to the ground and elegant. Its simplicity and modern aesthetics will pass the test of time.
Your child will be happy to sleep in it even in adulthood ( visiting parents from time to time 😉
F&A bed set
The upper bunk is a full single-sized bed, and the lower teen bed is as timeless as it gets.
The unique quality of these beds is, again, their flexibility.
> POSIBILITIES
Please put them in one line to save a maximum amount of space. Choose a perpendicular position for a more playful effect.
Now, as all the functional problems are solved, we can decorate. I’m aware that most teens will have a lot to say in this matter. It’s their space! My son has a strong need to surround himself with black. This applies not only to clothes but also to painting walls or selecting furniture – dark was the way to go. It has nothing to do with some challenging times for him; it’s just a new aesthetic phase in his development. I love dark interiors too, and it was a real pleasure to create this room. A few of my tips and suggestions if you like this aesthetic:
> STYLE – IT!
A good rule is to try to keep a calm feel to the styling. After all, a good bedroom should be relaxing and stimulate a good night’s sleep. For this room inspiration, I chose natural materials and warm colours. Imagine, both beds were black; it could have a kind of cold filing, but the wood gives a much more playful effect to the furniture set.
It’s not a big secret that natural materials help us to feel comfortable and relaxed. By bringing natural and earthly elements into our homes, we make them more reach and sensual. Decorative items crafted from natural fibres like jute, linen, wool, grass, or felt can help create a relaxed, grounded vibe. They also work well to soften the hard surfaces of minimal furniture, concrete, or dark flat walls.
I would say > Invite Nature to your Home Decor! Because let’s face it – Nature is so beautiful.
