Transitioning the living space with Bemz

Choosing the right sofa for your home is not an easy task!

It took us months of discussing, drawing, and wondering what will fit perfectly in our Loft. My hubby jumped the gun and surprised me with a huge lounge sofa that took half of our space. He needed to return it immediately, but it shows you that even architects and designers get it sometimes wrong ;) It’s a large open space, and the sitting area had to look, for me, elegant and light.

That’s why we decided to go for two smaller sofas, which is a more flexible and subtle option than one large sitting corner.
Then I always dreamed of a beautiful linen sofa. Why? The Loft has a very industrial character, so I believed linen would make it more cozy and soft. Yes, it makes a huge impact, what kind of material covers your sofa.
After making these two important decisions, it was time to find the perfect sofas and transform our living space!

While searching for unique linen sofas, I came across Bemz.

It’s a Swedish company providing beautiful covers for current and discontinued Ikea sofas and chairs. I was impressed by the massive range of fabrics in their in-house sofa cover collection. Bemz also collaborated with well-known designers like Tom Dixon and Christian Lacroix.
What is very useful is the possibility to order Free fabric samples – you can pick five pieces. In the end, we decided to go for Rosendal – Unbleached – Pure Washed Linen. I believe it’s the color of delicious vanilla ice cream!

You wonder, how is it possible to order first sofa covers and not have sofas yet? Well, that’s what we did, I’m afraid. Later, we went to get the Söderhamn – 3 Seater Sofas at IKEA. Do you know that you can order your sofa without any cover? Yes! You can get just a sofa frame and then use the BEMZ covers. This is an ecological way, as you don’t throw unnecessary covers, which you don’t like. It’s also a very budget-friendly option, while you will have luxury looking sofa, thanks to the high-quality covers from Bemz. I’m so glad to find this concept!

You also have two options for the way the cover hangs on your sofa. Bemz Loose Fit covers are designed to hang looser than the Regular Fit and have a floor-length drape. The IKEA Söderhamnsofa series is modular. You can set it in many different ways. We didn’t want to see the legs, but you can decide to show them. Loose Fit gives a much more relaxed look.

It’s a pure pleasure not only to use and sit on the sofas but also to look at them! Now it’s Autumn time, with long, dark evenings and many hours on the sofas for our family!
