Who we are
Our mission is simply to make playful, high-quality designer furniture that will be enjoyed by children and parents alike.
Rafa-kids originated from our shared dream as architects. We both strive for the best in whatever we do, put all their soul and energy into it. Agata takes care of the aesthetic side of the designs and Arek is the technical brain of the two. Because of our different interests and skills, we discuss all the designs thoroughly and analyze them in a long working process. We love it!
We understand parents because we are parents.
The world of design for children opened up to us around 2006 after the arrival of our two sons, Frank and Robert. We wanted to design beautiful high quality products for them. This is how the first bed for our eldest son came about. After making that first bed we received so many nice responses and requests that we decided to realize our dream and start our own company.
We called it RAFA after the first letters of our family members.
We’re in love with a modern and a minimalist aesthetic. In our own home, we try to keep things simple with not too much furniture or clutter. This is what we also seek in designing our collection. We love to create timeless items that encourage children’s creativity and their eagerness to play.
The biggest inspiration for us are our children.
Our collection grows together with our boys, and each product has arisen from personal need. For example, Frank used to sleep in the bunk bed and he loved to read there. Each evening he used to throw his books on the floor before going to sleep. There was also not enough space for a night lamp next to the bed. So, we needed to do something about it. That’s how the S shelf was born.
We also learn from our customers’ feedback and requests, which give us a lot of motivation to grow.
We’re working hard to keep developing Rafa-kids and to expand our collection with beautiful new designs. As our brand grows, together with our kids, we hope to create more products for older children and teenagers as well.
